Food, sleep (rest) and walking are very essential for life. Good health depends on proper food and the exercise. Like talking, walking is an art. It has got its own rules and theory .One must know when to walk and how to walk. The place of walking is equally important. It should be clean and free from dirt .Walking is a kind of light exercise. Walking is a good exercise to burn excess calories from body. Old people take constitutional walks. The best time for walking is morning. In morning, the air is fresh and clean. Both mind and body are fresh after night rest and one can enjoy the beauty of the nature. A walk may be taken in park, garden or ground. Hard road is good for long walks. One enjoys change of scenes and sights irrespective of distractions. With fresh air around, the nature appears to be cool every where. It is better to walk in morning however evening walk also has its charm. Walking wards off many diseases. It is good for health. Walking produces co-ordination of limbs. Brisk walking is good for lungs. It ventilates the lungs and improves blood circulation. Walking is a secret of long live as shown by research. All men, women, children, the old and the young must walk on daily basis. The Greeks and Romans attached great importance to such exercise. It was a part of their physical culture. Walking is in fact an outlet for surplus energy.
