The abuses of narcotics and effects on our society
The use of narcotics is a great curse for the society. Drugs are intoxicants. A drug is defined as a substance used to poison or stupefy. It is a kind of self-pollution. The common drugs are heroin, hashish, Cocaine and Marijuana. A person who becomes habitual of using drugs is called as addict. Once the habit is formed, it is difficult to give it up. It seriously affects the nervous system of the person and makes him a burden for the society .Even educational institutes are not spared of narcotic menace. This problem becomes even more alarming when we know that these drugs are being used by youth .Most of the people fall a prey to the narcotic sellers due to their ignorance .But once they are trapped in their hands, they become slave of these drugs. These sellers are the enemy of humanity. They are selfish since they sell such menace for money and want to get rich over night. It is also irony of fate that small children are being used to sell narcotics secretly. Drug Mafia has become a world wide evil and has transformed into an organized network from Asia to all parts of the world. It is said that Afghanistan is rated the top most country in the production of these narcotics. It is increasing day by day and had become now a menace and a challenge to the humanity.
