We are living now in the age of science and machine and technical education in the cry of the day. Technical education is important in different fields such as engineering, agriculture, industry, commerce etc. A country’s economic development depends largely on the progress of this type of education. Now day’s agriculture involves scientific method of cultivation by which the product is enormously increased .We use tractors to plough the land, sow the seeds, cut the crops and separate the grain by machines. In the field of industry, commere, forestry and fisheries, technical education has become a part and parcel of our life. Engineers nowadays are the pioneers of a nation. Technical training cannot be obtained from books or lectures only. It requires practical training and the students have to handle tools in a workshop. As the saying goes,”Practice makes a man perfect”. In this way they realize the dignity of labour.They become very useful for their country and plays a vital part in its development .Technical education has also one more advantage .It teaches a man to live with grace and the dignity of labor and manual work. A technical education is an added advantage and proves to be a surplus value for young generations.
