How can we save Energy?
Energy has now become one of the basic essential requirement of not only the people but equally essential for the industry in fact the entire state. The people may, with difficulty and sacrifice, do without electricity but under no circumstances the industry and the state can function. In fact if the energy crisis becomes continuous the industry will come to a standstill and as a result Pakistan’s economy will collapse .Survival of people will become impossible .We may then have to import energy from abroad and that will cause a lump sum of foreign exchange. Energy is created with the help of natural and artificial resources. Major source of energy are the many dams, throughout Pakistan. Although more and more dams are being built in order to meet the requirement for the energy. Yet shortage continues to increase .There is another source of energy that is the atomic reaction. But these are just a shortage in “Wastage” both by the people and the state. In order to solve the energy crisis the following steps should be taken immediately. More and more atomic reactors should be built particularly in those areas where the industries are in located. Energy through sunlight should be developed .There are places and areas in Pakistan where energy from sunlight can be exploited at ten months in a year. Energy can also be obtained from sea water .This source should be exploited because we are faced with huge oceans. Energy through ‘Windmill” is a very important and cheap source of energy .This source has been so far been completely ignored .This is to be noted that about 24 % of the electricity requirement is met by windmills in Germany. Wastage of electricity should be totally controlled by taking drastic action against those who are wasting electric energy in terms of thousands of megawatts. Gradually all domestic appliances should be converted in to natural gas energy which is in abundant supply.
